Technologies, Ltd. announces High Current Solar Charge
Controller product line.

Virtual
Technologies, Ltd. announced today the launch of it HC Solar Charge
Controller line. The HC Series (high current) are fused, Pulse Width Modulation,
solar charge controllers. The HC-50 is the first model to
be released. Future models may include 75 amp and 120 amp
units.
The
HC-50 Charge Controller is an advanced, high current, product
designed for mid to large sized solar systems.
The HC-50 is typically used in telco applications,
wireless-local-loop systems, remote electrification, and
general-purpose PV systems.
The HC-50 controller provides a cost-effective, high
efficiency, solution for users requiring a simple well-built
charge controller. The
HC-50 is suitable for flooded lead-acid (FLA) batteries.
The
HC-50 uses a constant voltage, Series Pass, Pulse-Width
Modulation (PWM) circuit, which ensures a highly controlled bulk
and taper charge. PWM
charging significantly extends battery life compared with
conventional “on-off” shunt-type controllers.
Importantly,
the HC-50 is not a shunt design typically found in low cost
charge controllers. The
Series Pass design does not short circuit the attached PV panels
when the battery is fully charged.
This prevents “hot spotting” the panels, thereby
prolonging their life. Additionally,
all HC Series charge controllers allow the user to disconnect
the battery, while keeping the PV panels attached, without
damaging the charge controller, or paralleled equipment.
The
HC Series provides PWM non-shorting charge controllers at prices
of shunt (shorting) designs. All HC charge controllers may be paralleled to provide higher
current capability
